Biking through wine country

Having first seen Hitchcock’s film The Birds at an impressionable young age, I was delighted to discover the route of our bike tour through renowned counties of Northern California would take us right past the old church and schoolhouse  on our way to the Bodega Bay, CA.

For six days, we cycled four hours a day over vine-woven hills from Sonoma to the Pacific Ocean and back to Napa, stopping only for yummy wines and regional cuisine.

When my family saw the bandages on my leg later, they wondered how this two-wheeling wine lover fell off her bike…
